South Molton Depot Manager Raymond Thomas Penfold is the third generation of the Penfold family to continue in the business tradition by following both his father and his Grandfather and working in the business.

Although attitudes toward metal recycling have changed enormously since the company was founded some 60 years ago the benefits of metal recycling have remained the same, providing positive outcomes for energy conservation, environmental compliance, and job creation.

By linking the family and core business values of safety, compliance and environmental responsibility to astute business practices which put customers’ first, Raymond Thomas continues to contribute and enhance the tradition which sees SWM as the foremost metal recycler in the area, and which offers the best possible prices, aligned to professional and customer centred practices.

Commenting on his job role and his passion Raymond Thomas said ‘For me it’s all about creating an advantage for our customers both in financial terms, and in service terms as well. We want to be the best we can whilst all the while operating safely and with due regard to the environment. We are the local metal recycler with a global reach and a global attitude.
